Video Guide: Astronomy for Beginners

Here is a series of videos meant for everyone interested in astronomy, but for the most part it discusses the basics on astronomy, so you amateurs out there will learn the most. Learning by watching videos is a good why to get started in astronomy, but you should also get some books on the subject. There are many good guides out there that teach you the basics.

Now lets begin the video show, this first video talks about some general advice for beginning your hobby in amateur astronomy and how to use a planisphere:

Telescope guide #2 gives a brief discussion of telescope mounts: Alt-Azmuth, equatorial, and dobsonian. He also will be talking about the different moon phases.

Instructional video part #4 is all about aligning the finderscope with the primary optics. One of the most important things you will do to find objects in the sky.
